Menabo Architects wins Archiprix International 2011!

Zomerhof-tenant Menabo Architects was awarded for The Project Space Poetics and Voids as one of the 8 best graduation projects in the world during the 2011 Archiprix International award ceremony taking place at the Guggenheim museum in New York .
The jury composed by Yung Ho Chang (Atelier FJCZ and former Dean of the Architecture Department of the MIT), Kapil Gupta (Serie Architects), Xiangning (Sean) Li (Tongi University and director of the Museum of Architecture Shanghai), and Ralph Nelson (LOOM) reviewed and selected 24 projects among the 300 total entries of the 2011 Archiprix International edition. During the award ceremony at the Guggenheim museum in New York attended by over 400 guests, 8 winners have been announced: Simone Pizzagalli – Delft University of Technology, Faculty of Architecture, Delft the Netherlands; Lorenzo Trompetto, Veronica Rusca, Maurizio Pizzocro – Università di Genova, Facoltà di Architettura, Genoa Italy; Molly Hunker, Mira Henry – University of California, Department of Architecture and Urban Design, Los Angeles United States; Ruann van der Westhuizen – University of Pretoria, Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology, Pretoria South Africa; Jonathan Enns – Princeton University, School of Architecture, Princeton United States; Craig Johnston – University of Strathclyde, Department of Architecture,Glasgow Scotland; Nicholas Adam Szczepaniak – The University of Westminster, School of Architecture and the Built Environment, London England; Gijs Adriaansens – Eindhoven University of Technology, Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning, Eindhoven the Netherlands. The ceremony ended with a gala dinner at Guastavinos. A designed award object and a price money has been given to the winners during the ceremony.
